How low should I let it get before charging the battery? I've just recently started monitoring it with a tester. It started today at 12.66V, and after starting the engine twice was down to 12.50V, then after one more it was at 12.47 or something like that. How low to let it go? If I put it on charge too soon, will it "develop a memory" by burning out cells,or whatever happens when they turn to junk like that? Thanks, David Did you bother to read the first post from this group in answer to your question? It said your battery wasn't a NiCad and wouldn't suffer from memory loss. I don't believe NiCads do either. I believe that's just a term for when they are damaged and have less life, developed by the manufacturers so it doesn't make them look bad when the chargers they sell with them damage the batteries. It further said to put it on the charger. My question wasn't should I charge it, my question was when to charge and when not to. You didn't reply, so I assumed you understood. I already understood it's not a NiCad and that it sometimes needs to be charged. |
