As most of you know, my daughter Renee was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, at the ripe old age of 39. She underwent a mastectomy, is undergoing chemotherapy, and will undergo a hysterectomy and thyroidectomy soon. She is hanging very tough and is still doing a great job of raising her three boys. As most of you won't be able to make it to Richmond, I've created a web page (actually, I got it as part of registering for the race) through which donations can be made to the foundation sponsoring the race. The web site URL is below. Please take a peek at it, make a small (or large) donation, and forward this email to anyone you think might be willing to help. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Thanks! http://www.active.com/donate/varace4cure/JohnHerring Help us help the fight! We will happy to support the "race" with a donation and with best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery for your daughter. A bit of encouragement: Mrs.E went through the same thing, mastectomy, 6 months of chemo and also had nuclear radiation treatment for an over active thyroid. She was 45 at the time. Today, 10 years later, she is healthy and cancer-free. Interestingly, her oncologist told me at the time that they can deal with the cancer. He was more concerned about controlling the thyroid problem, and was successful in doing so. RCE The thyroid problem is one of our big concerns also. They're either going to remove it or a portion of it. That and the hysterectomy will all be done on the 17th of May. Hearing about your wife's success helps. Thanks. My daughter has decided to go ahead and have the other breast removed also, as a preventative measure. She's not going to undergo the radiation treatments because they're sure they got everything with the first mastectomy. I'll be looking forward to your contribution to the breast cancer foundation. Thanks in advance. -- 'Til next time, John H ****************************************** ***** Have a Spectacular Day! ***** ****************************************** |

JohnH,
You daughter looks like a real fighter, she will do well. Best of luck to both of you. Hopefully, your "donation" page will bring in lots of money. "JohnH" wrote in message ...
