my boat has a pair of Carter 9772S carbs.
any idea of where to get a rebuild kit or a Edelbrock cross reference
for a new carb?

Here's a link to try. They have both car/truck plus marine engine carbs.
Your model number is not listed, but they can rebuild or suggest a
replacement.
