*Why* is Katherine Harris *still* the only announced GOP candidate for
the US Senate seat coming up for grabs this fall?

No need to discuss her personality, her assets or shortcomings, et
cetera,* but I thought virtually every Republican in the state had
written off her chances, even with the $10 million she said she was
prepared to spend.

Isn't anyone else in the party interested in the seat? That's my
question for the Floridians here. No other candidates interested?

*Well, a discussion of her inability to use makeup properly might be in
order!

Not interested in opening a political discussion? Then why would you ask
this question?

I am a Floridian.

I am a Republican, avid even, and enrolled so.

I read the papers.

And I have no idea why she is the only announced GOP candidate for the seat
(if that's the case).

I would speculate, repeat speculate, that due to the incumbency advantage,
no other flesh-and-blood Republican challenger would stand a chance,
either, and no one has been recruited to fall on the sword for the party.

I guess anything is possible, but there is no shortage of Republicans in
Florida with the following, skills and $$$ to win elections. I'm surprised
Jeb Bush didn't express more interest in the race.

Me too. But I heard he had zipper problems. Of course, the number of
Republicans he'd lose because of infidelity pales in comparison to the
number of Democrats he'd gain because of infidelity.

If I could still vote in Florida, I'd almost certainly vote for a
reasonable Repub who liked the ladies!

Thank you for proving my point.
