Default Rocky Cantos Sighting!

Chris Bell wrote:
Old time readers of this newsgroup will remember Rocky Cantos (and
perhaps me as well!). My March/April AW Journal arrived today and what
to my wondering eyes should appear but an article by Rocky on his 330
mile solo descent of the Rio Sirupa in Northern Mexico.

Good article! It reminds me of Rocky, from the "couldn't find a
paddling partner able to go, so I went solo" thru an admonition
that the Rio Sirupa gorge was unrunnable, to dealing with high flows
and thinking about walking out. I'm very glad Rocky is still alive.
Some of his early stores led us to believe he might not be.

Great read, highly recommended.

Now who are you calling an old timer, mr Bell? ;-)

If the New Schoolers are taking so many risks, why have death rates
for kayakers declined for the past two years?
