Loved your pix of the eagles. They are pretty rare (if at all) on S.E. Mich, but last summer I was convinced that I was looking at one. It was huge and way to big to be a hawk. Mentioned it to a DNR friend and he said it had to be a Black or Turkey vulture. Didn't know they came to Mich. either.... You may find this interesting: http://www.baldeagleinfo.com/eagle/directory/MI.html ================================== Thanx for the website, Jim, I found it very interesting and I'm familiar with most of the places mentioned. My sister lived in Alpena for a number of years and she and her husband were members of an eagle watching club. They went to various places where they could expect to see eagles and would report their sightings. She said they saw mostly golden eagles. This was back in the 60s and I think the bald eagles were a seriously endangered species at that time. Thanx again for sharing. |
