Rust pevention on both sides of a steel hull

Hello!

I'm looking for advice on that to do with the interior surface of a
steel boat. Our boat is an old canal going rustbucket which we have
stipped down and had several "patches" welded onto the hull.

The underwater surface is getting the grinder treatment one square
meter at a time, then we are applying "underwater primer" immediately.
We plan to do 5 coats of this followed by anti-fowling paint.

The question is, what to do with the inside? We have ground off a thick
layer of rust which had been formed by years of rainwater getting into
the boat. Much of the surface is quite badly pitted. The advise we have
had so far is to use a rust preventing oil coating. It has also been
suggested to use same underwater primer. Which advise is best? Could we
use both the oil treatment and the paint?
