simple trick to make your icebox last longer
Hi all,
Here is a simple trick to make the ice in your top loading icebox last longer. My ice block would last for 2 or 3 days and now lasts for 5. Get one of those cheap, $2 space blankets, you know those silver emergency ones. Once your ice is in the icebox and all the food too, cover it all with the blanket. Move it aside as you need food, as you go thru food, it makes the space to be cooled smaller, so you are not cooling the whole chest. Have never posted here before, let me know if you like the idea, cheers. |

Been doing this for year with our refrigerator in our sailboat. Works.
