After years of having polarized glasses; I've given up on them for boating;
mostly becuase I got headaches using them as the polarity "shifts" as the boat
heels over or swells adjust; you don't hold your head "flat" to get the
polorizing effect.

I have worn Glacier glasses on the boat, actually all the time, and am glad; the
block most of the glare & keep my eyes relaxed...

Up here, some boaters use field glasses in their normally frustrated
attempts to catch even the faintest glimmer of sunlight. I have been
told the sun is round, and sort of a bright white/orange/yellow color.
Thank heaven for our perpetual cloud cover, it doesn't sound like that
mythical ball of fire in the sky would be much to look at even if one
had an opportunity to do so.

(There are some important reasons that the Pacific NW is not a hotbed
of celestial navigation and/or astronomy)
