stick steering

What happened? Around here all the stick steering rigs are homemade
cable and pulley contraptions. My first boat had C & P steering. When I
bought a new motor the mechanic refused to hook it up until I went to a
Teleflex type system. He said insurance wouldn't let him do it. He said
if one component of the cable and pullies let loose, the spring tension
on the other side would yank the motor sideways which wouldn't be any
fun at speed. Sam

Different Stick steering . Is Teleflex type cables. Maybe dad should have
not tried to go so fast so soon. I have never driven a stick steered boat,
mine is a steering river boat, but the bigger boats are mostly stick as it
reacts faster for the river.
