from a wider range of gov't activities than just handing out

The social/economic/legal system that we operate under is
what makes it possible for the rich to buy these things.
They don't "just happen." Without gov't that system would
not function. Is the light beginning to dawn Fred?

Hey Fred, if the light ever dawns, pass it over to me so I can understand
this line of reasoning as well. By our social standards, I've been poor and
I've been rich. I didn't make the transition by relying on or taking
advantage of some government program, investment scheme or tax shelters. I
am too stupid for that. I also was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth
and I certainly didn't attend any Ivy League schools. I just worked my ass
off.
