I am haveing a hard time finding the VIN numbers on trailers and boats.
I can see where the plates are and the VIN whould be. Where is the VIN number located on a boat or trailer? and if it is stamped in then what dose the number look like? All the numbers I see stamped into the trailer seem to short to be a VIN? I really could you some help on where to find these VIN's. And my boss dosen't want me to hire any one to help. Can you please help me? ~Kat Bill McKee wrote: There should be a vin number stamped into the frame somewhere. "Eddie" wrote in message news ![]() I will be looking at a boat trailer for sale by a tow company that has been in their yard since it was towed by order of police. It is a tandem, 31 feet long and that's it. Here is question: The id plate has been removed (was stolen?) and on it was the VIN and weight info. The tow company has gotten new pink slip but they don't know the weight ratings. How can I tell if it is capable of carrying an 8,500 lb boat? What should I look for, bigger wheels? Bigger springs? The frame? Size and number of rollers? Or am I taking a chance? (I can see putting my boat on it and the damn thing collapsing, lol) Thanks for any help Eddie |
