I don't see any WalMart battery charges that do any type of charging
system diagnostics. What brand and model?

I just bought a Vector 40 amp at my local Walmart. It will check your
alternator, has a selectable charging rate of 2, 10, 20 or 40 amps,
and an equalization function.
