You and Dougie really don't know what it takes to have an combat ready battalion operational. The support services are massive. Beans and bullets are just the first needs. There are a very large number of supporting untis that are needed too. Iraq is going to divide into two or three states. Let it. The Turks are going to get really ****ed when their Kurds break away. NOYB,
Harry has offered a plan. His plan was very simple: 1. Drop leaflets informing the Iraqi's we were going to bomb their country into the stone age. 2. Give them a reasonable amount of time to leave the country. 3. Bomb every city, town and hobble. Total destroy their entire infrastructure. 4. Then set up a massive "Marshall Plan" so we could rebuild the country. As crazy as it sounds, that was Harry's plan. "NOYB" wrote in message ink.net... "Harry Krause" wrote in message ... There's no telling how long, or how expansive the resulting Civil War would be, but one thing is certain, Iran's sphere of influence would be greatly enlarged. That is not a good thing, coupled with the damage to this country's influence and prestige. But then, Bush and his neo-con buddies should have thought it through, wouldn't you think? These guys are insane. http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/fea....marshall.html The very best thing for *this* country would be for the utter dissolution of Iraq to take place early in 2008, prior to the fall presidential elections. so that the neocons can be totally discredited, and we can elect a new POTUS with a working brain and advisers who are not warmongers. I think they were discredited before they started. They needed deception to make their plans work. Those plans would never survived an open debate. They had to lie. 9/11 was a gift to the neo-cons. Imagine selling an Iraq invasion, prior to 9/11. Hell, even in this forum, besides NOYB and a very few others, how many would have supported a preemptive invasion of Iraq, before 9/11? |
