It's really all about two things - not over torquing the wheel nut
such that the bearings bind and keeping them greased well - they will
stay cool and you can do the dunk thing with no problem.


Tom, Another thing to remind people of when inspeciting/replacing the
bearings is to rotate the hub full turns in both directions while
tightening to allow the rollers to seat properly. Tapered roller
bearings are bad about skewing during installation which will change
your preload as well as damage the bearing.
