Can I get a unit that is interchangeable? I don't want to get one for

Is there a gps that I can move car to boat?

I'd guess ANY can be made to do so, but the best would be a handheld like
an eTrex. I have a Garmin GPS III+ that I carry between boats and car.
Display is pretty wimpy, but I connect it to the laptop and run chart
software.

My unit's battery compartment has died, so I use the cigarette-lighter
plug for power, or the solar-panel-recharged 8AA's in my "sounder-box"
that contains the GPS and a sounder, all completely portable.
