WSJ Poll: Majority Believes Bush a Liar
"Harry Krause" wrote in message ... While the telephone survey of 1,011 U.S. adults indicates about 64% of Americans believe the Bush administration "generally misleads the American public on current issues to achieve its own ends," opinion on the topic is clearly divided along party lines. A large majority (68% to 28%) of Republicans say the Bush administration generally provides accurate information. These polls are misleading. For instance, I'd be among the 32% of Republicans who believe that the administration sometimes misleads the American public on current issues to achieve its own ends. But I also believe that the ends justify the means. So I support the President. Imagine that Bush came right out and said "we're going to invade Iraq and Afghanistan so that we can rid the World of Saddam and the Taliban...and then establish military bases in each country right on the border of Iran and Syria, so we can deal with those threats when the time is right". If he had said such a thing, the news media in the US and abroad would have chewed him up and spit him out. |
