What the ****'s the difference, moron?

Why is it that so many of the "progressives" in the NG think it is useful to
use expletives to emphasize their prospective on issues.

I also wonder why so many liberals find the word liberal to be such a
negative word that they use the expression "progressive".

Certain terminology is reserved for use with certain types of people. It's
really not the problem you make it out to be. Language is beautiful, as
George Carlin has proven over and over again.

You suffer from a short memory. Recall "Tuuk"? Recall the decidedly
right wing individual who attempted to drive all the OT posters from
the NG with a non-stop barrage of profanity?

As far as the term "liberal" goes, some prefer to be called
"progressives" for the same reason that many of you "reactionaries"
would prefer to be called "conservatives".

Profanity should be used sparingly, for special emphasis. Overuse of
profanity usually indicates a limited vocabulary. Then again, there are
cases where one is attempting to communicate with people who don't
easily understand multi-syllable words and there is a limited supply of
four letter words that can be easily understood.

Chuck,
I agree, if used very sparingly, a good expletive can be effective to
emphasize a point. If it is not used sparingly it loses all impact.

Chuck,
Oh and you are correct there were some weak minded people from the right
whose inability to express themselves forced them to use expletives in
almost everyone of their posts. They were just as effective as those on the
left who can not communicate without using profanity.

I meant what I said, those who us expletives in their normal conversation or
posts normally are of limited mental capacity. Both right and left wing can
be just as guilty, and both are ineffective in their communication skills.

Recall how many times conservatives in the group made comments to Tuuk about his
posts?

Kevin hasn't been here for a while, Chuck. Other than those who have to use
vulgarities as adjectives, who can't understand multi-syllable words? Many of
both persuasions here have praised some of the stories/articles you've authored
and posted. Are you implying those doing the praising couldn't read your posts?

I find it hard to believe that you could or would defend something like:

"What the ****'s the difference, moron?"

Progressives? How funny. *Regressive's* would be more accurate. But I can
understand why many liberals do not want to be called such anymore as it
has become a word with so many negative images attached to it. ;-)

As far as I can tell, there hasn't been any non-fictional, non-Smithers
Kevins posting here since "KS" in September and KevingDHCP in August.

Before that, "Kevin & Debbie", Kevin Jed, and Kevin Despot all in July.
I notice that none of them have been back since.
