It's getting pretty bad when people you thought were reasonable
individuals turn into petty partisan ideologues - left and right.

Have fun ****ing on each other's shoes.

I've got better things to do.

Sorry to see you go.

I think we're now down to about a dozen actual boaters among the active
posters here, maybe a half dozen guys who claim to own boats but are
posting 24/7/365, and about a dozen guys who never post anything but
political comments.

If you want a place to discuss boats, there are much better options
than this one, (sad to say). Goodbye and good luck.

Speaking of people who left do to the political garbage that is dumped
in wrecked.boats. Clams Canino says hello, He did some work on two of my
boats over the last week.

We took out the Phamton Menace II for a short run. That old in-line six
merc he has is pretty cool.

Your post jogged a memory flash in the old hard drive in my head. When I
got out of the Navy back in 1977 a friend of mine gave me an old six
cylinder Merc outboard. The thing was huge, but was only about 60 hp if I
remember correctly. It was black with a chrome band around the body of the
motor. I think it was of a mid to late '60's vintage. I built a stand for
it and stuck it in a 55 gal drum and it ran fine. The last I knew it was
buried somewhere in my father-in-law's garage. He never throws anything
away, so it's probably still there. I'll have to check if I ever get back
home.

Thats what CC's Merc looks like, I forgot what year it is but I would
not be surprised if it was mid 60's "Phamtom Black" with a large chrome
band on the engine. 6- hp sounds about right as well.

Those engines are his main focus. He has a nice little shop where he
works on them.
