Gosharoonie, what a surprise! Did the following surprise you too? "The researchers concluded that Wal-Mart had a positive impact on US employment, generating 210,000 jobs by 2004, or 0.15 percent more that would have existed without Wal-Mart." In a study sponsored by Wal-Mart? No. 210,000 crappy jobs, just like the Bush Administration wants. Perhaps those jobs are being filled by retirees wanting to do something.........or perhaps by folks who never bothered to learn a trade or continue their education. No one forces them to work at Walmart. When Wal-Mart comes to a small town and forces dozens of businesses to close, then the only jobs that remain are at Wal-Mart. When Wal-Mart buys a half trillion dollars worth of goods from companies in the PRC that practice slave labor or close to it, and that forces US companies to close and lay off their workers, then some of those workers are forced to find a crap job at Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart is a crap, rogue corporation that exploits Americans. ....and chinese workers... |
