How's this for a terrorist alert -- the federal Department of Homeland
Security just awarded the Fairfield Fire Department a $115,528 grant
for exercise equipment and the services of a nutritionist who will
train the firefighters on "healthy eating.''

Just think how many millions of taxpayer's dollars this act has cost
us! And what was gained by it? Crap like this, and a childish color
coding system.

What is crappy, is in the 1960's when I was at Travis, there were about 5000
people in town. Now there are about 150,000 and lots of stores. They
should be able to fund their own FD. But Tauscher is a turkey even if she
is a Dem. Former Stockbroker.

what's the problem? nutrition is an essential component of maintaining
the capabilities of first responders. you change the oil in fire
trucks, why not maintain the engines of firefighters?
