Looking for some advice....

Hey everybody...

Got a question on Fish Hawk boats. I have a friend who has a real hot
deal on a brand new 2002 230 center console Fish Hawk. Supposedly,
these are actually a Hydra-Sports used by Bombardier to introduce they
"new" (read revamped/reengineered) Johnsons/Evinrudes.

Any truth to this? I've looked through the Hydra-Sports site and
their 230 looks a lot like this boat, but I don't know - ain't never
heard tell of no Fish Hawk.

Also, on a demo ride, I noticed that the engine bracket is very low on
the transom - under a fact idle, the engine is buried right up to the
cowl - this doesn't seem like such a great idea to me. Any comments
on that?

You'd either have to get inside info or measure. An awful lot of
fiberglass center console boats look almost exactly alike. Probably
because some builders literally make molds from the hulls of their
competitors.

Yeah. Go to Parkerboats.net and click on the 2520XL model. You'll see a
boat moving at a fast idle and you'll see the proper position for a
bracket and an outboard mounted on it. The cowl is NOT in the water.
