Need advice: Would like to replace 4.3L with 350 small block

1991 Wellcraft 192 Sport with a Volvo Penta (GM) 4.3L/Duoprop Stern Drive. I
know the V8 will just bolt right up to the DP. Will the 350 fit in the
engine compartment and the compartment cover still fit over it? How much
longer/wider/larger, etc. is the V8 than the V6?

Width is the same. Is a 350 small block with 2 less cylinders.

Same width, same height, figure the 350 will be about 4.75"longer. You can
lose a good bit of this extra length difference by rearrainging the
accessories, using a remote waterpump and driving from a reverse offset 6
poly pully, however you'll pick up a bit of width as all your accessories
will mount next to the engine rather than in front.
Personnally, unless the 350 will just drop right in with no mods, I'd keep
the V-6 and supercharge it. Lots cheaper
