A new Lectra-San Question...

....at least I don't think anyone as asked before.

So the Lectra-San is only supposed to treat sewage - defined for us
boaters as pretty much only human waste (household sewage contains all
kinds of stuff that shouldn't go in a Lectra-San.

Will barf hurt a Lectra San? I may sound like I am trying to be
funny... and my wife and I are chuckling about it now. But I am
serious about the question.

My wife got violently ill on our boat over the weekend. She had
indicated that she wasn't feeling good so we called off our overnight
stay on the hook and returned to our slip. On the trip back, she...
shall we say... stress tested the Lectra San pretty good. Several
loads of yak won't eat the electrodes, will they?

Have to say I was lucky. Whatever attacked my wife, got me several
hours later, after we got home. It was bad enough that we both ended
up in the emergency room for several hours the next day for "his and
hers" I.V. rehydration. If we had both been that sick at the same
time on the boat, I would have had to call for help.

I'll bet it won't.

You're supposed to flush acid through the unit every so often, anyway.

Hey. Yeah. Perhaps an occassional sick guest would be good for
plumbing maintenance. :)

Barf won't hurt it...it's just another type of body waste. The only
problem MIGHT be the volume of flush water going through it...'cuz the
L/S can only accept about a gallon per flush/treatment cycle...much more
than that pushes untreated waste out. But even that's only a temporary
problem.

Sorry about your gastric problem. I've been there...it's NOT fun!
