gummed up carb, what to do ?
I suspect the two carbs on my 98 Force 120 gummed up by old gas.
Is there a easy way to clean it up without taking it apart ? Can I spry Gumout into it ? |

If that was true, then what is car cleaner going to do to this so called

Here's how to use it: http://outdoorsbest.zeroforum.com/zerothread?id=2589 Attach the can to your fuel line. Run the engine. "steve" wrote in message m... Steve, there are a few parts in your carb that carb cleaner will ruin.
Anything made of rubber (gasket, needle/seat) will be melted. You'll need to dissassemble the carb before you use the carb cleaner. Use tag wire to clear all the jets. Soaking the carb sometimes works also. "steve" wrote in message m... I suspect the two carbs on my 98 Force 120 gummed up by old gas. Is there a easy way to clean it up without taking it apart ? Mercruiser brand foaming carb cleaner works pretty well. I used it to de-gum
the carb on my newly purchased but neglected I/O Volvo this spring, and it did a good job. 8 bucks at the boat dealer. Others here have talked about Berryman's B12, which you can find at Wal-Mart and AutoZone. "steve" wrote in message m... I suspect the two carbs on my 98 Force 120 gummed up by old gas.
