Mercruiser Alpha 1 - 3.0 Liter Starter Circuit Problem

I have a 1996 Bayliner Capri 1950 with a Mercruiser Alpha 1, 3.0 liter
engine. The circuit breaker to the starter keeps tripping. The
problem started last fall. I first replaced the primary solenoid
(still had the problem), and then had the circuit checked by a
mechanic, who replaced the secondary solenoid. The problem seemed to
be corrected until just recently. The breaker is again tripping
(after about 10 hours on the engine since the repairs last fall), but
will sometimes work after repeated breaker resets.

Has anyone had this problem?

Mercruiser Alpha 1 - 3.0 Liter Starter Circuit Problem

Circuit breaker is probably bad at this point. However, make sure all
connections are good and tight and the battery connections are tight (w/
pliers - not by hand).
