Aftermarket Radar Arch or Mounting

I recently bought a 2500 SCR Maxum 2002 and was trying to figure out a
good way to mount the radar. The boat has a bimi top but I'm unsure
if you could mount the radar in some fashion to the structure used for
the bimi top or if I have to buy a custom radar arch and spend 1500 or
so.

Has anyone else found a cheaper solution to this problem now that
radar has become more affordable for smaller boats.

If no one has found a solution for this common problem which I find
hard to believe are there any recommendations for custom radar arch
fabricators with an emphasis on them being in San Diego seeing that is
local to me and would save on shipping.

I have never seen a bimini top I would attach a radar antenna to. Even if they
didn't sway so much, you would have to install and uninstall if for each trip
and deal with some loose wires. I have seen these on boats, however...

West Marine is only one source. I'm sure you can get these at a number of
retailers..

If you have a lightweight scanner (less than 15 pounds or so), and a
sturdy bimini frame (well braced stainless steel tubing), you can
probably get something to work. Typically a large aluminum plate is
fabricated which is wide enough to bridge two bimini frame tubes, and
attached with U-bolts. Not as sturdy as an arch obviously but it can
be functional.
