YAHOO!!!!

I just received a call from the father in law of an acquaintance of
mine........he informed me he has room for my boat inside his barn for
winter storage at a cost of $25/month = $150 for the winter
season.....protected and secured.....insert big grin.

I was planning to store it in an open yard (for free) but the additional
cost is well worth it.

I have already ordered/purchased all my winterization supplies and will be
tucking her away for the winter before the end of October.

Any fishing for the rest of the season will be done on my friends Lyman.

Life is good. insert another big grin.

The concept of storing a boat for the winter still seems weird to me.
I am more likely to store mine for the summer when its just too dang
hot and still to sail here in N. FL. Winter is great boating weather
here.

How many months do you store your boat (just curious)? We can sail for
9 months (mid summer is hellish) but 3 of those have hurricanes so it
limits cruising

The end of October to early April.

Here in Nova Scotia...usually 6.5 to 7 months.
Boating season is usually Victoria Day in May till Thanksgiving in
October. Hardy sailors will get a few weeks extra on both ends.
