Support for Bush's War Declining, Too.
"Harry Krause" wrote in message ... GALLUP NEWS SERVICE PRINCETON, NJ -- While the Bush administration is trying to emphasize positive developments on the political front in Iraq, the recent escalation of rebel violence there -- in addition to public concerns about the costs of recovering from Hurricane Katrina -- may be costing President Bush some public support for his Iraq policy. Public approval of Bush's overall handling of the situation in Iraq has tumbled eight points in just the past week, from 40% in a Sept. 8-11 poll to 32% in the most recent CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll, conducted Sept. 16-18. In fact, exactly 40% of Americans had approved of Bush's handling of Iraq in each of the previous four measures, dating back to May. Now, for the first time since the start of the Iraq war in 2003, two-thirds of Americans disapprove of the job he is doing on Iraq. They're asking the wrong question, but I suppose there are no options available. The right question would be "Do you now see what an utterly pointless choice Bush made by getting us involved in another country's religious and political strife?" |

Shouldn't Bush be flying to Galveston right now for a sound and video bit expressing in advance his sorrow for the anticipated plight of the residents there? He doesn't know Galveston's in Texas. |
Harry,
You were the person screaming because Bush did not visit NO and Miss.. You want him there and then his wife to visit. Now that he has done what you wanted, you are blaming him for making a show of it. The truth of the matter, is the only reason a politician makes a personal visit, is to make a show of it, to let the people know he cares. He can get a more accurate picture by reviewing the reports by the experts. -- Starbuck "The Hitch Hiker's Guide has not been an opera. Others:
1. Then: Bush is not spending enough on the disaster Now: Bush is spending too much on the disaster 2. Then: The governor of LA constantly laying the blame on Bush for not responding Now: The truth comes out and the governor of LA tells folks to stop blaming people. My oh my. ;-) "Starbuck" wrote in message ... Harry, You were the person screaming because Bush did not visit NO and Miss.. You want him there and then his wife to visit.
