Shipping a 18' powerboat... Any idea how much it would cost between...

San Diego and Portland (or Seattle)? A friend of mine in San Diego
has a boat that he is willing to sell me at a very good price.
However, ther is no way I have the time to drive down to pick it up so
before I pass on the offer, I am trying to get a rough estimate of
how much it may cost to have the boat and its trailer shipped (by
truck I suppose). Are we talking $500 or $2000 or ???

Here's a tip:

Get ahold of US Marine (Bayliner) in Arlington, WA and see if they will
give you the name of one of the drivers that hauls boats down the coast
for them. If you can get the name and the number, you might get a
pretty reasonable rate on a backhaul from SD. Beats coming back empty.
(Some of these guys haul boats one at a time behind 1-ton pickups).
