"Charlie Brown" wrote in message ... This may be a dumb question, but when I buy my boat, I'm planning on storing in an open lot. Obviously, I'm concerned about theft. It would seem to me that removing an outboard motor is probably not too hard to do. Is there some kind of locking mechanism that helps prevent theft? I'm using one of these http://www.mcgard.com/marine/outboard.asp and one of these while parked on the trailer http://www.lockitt.com/cobralin.htm A padlock is easily cut as I found out the hard way. If you use a kicker bracket take a good look at its assembly. Some are very easy to take apart. -rick- |
