Start '90 evinrude w/o controls

I'm going to look at a used 1990 Evinrude (100 hp). I want to see how it
starts/runs and do a compression check. Controls are not available. I assume
it will start if I attach battery to solenoid and jump solenoid.
2 questions:

1 - how can I shut it down. Can I ground a pin on engine wiring plug? If so,
which pin?

2 - which pin on plug will apply choke, or is it a richener? Should I just
give it a shot of starting fluid instead?

Thanks in advance,

TC

Wrong assumption. This is a battery ignition... you are thinking back
to the old magneto days... a connection to the ignition for power will
be necessary.

See above. Disconnect to shut down.

Red lever on enrichment solenoid.

Should I just
give it a shot of starting fluid instead?

Hard on 2-strokes... last resort only.
