Vermillion, SD, has two ll's, but you are correct in stating that the
dictionary spelling of vermilion has but a single l. Place names are always fascinating. hoary, Lake Vermilion is in the north EAST corner of Minnesota, http://www.lakevermilion.com/ while Vermillion, SD is near the South Dakota/Nebraska border http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp...9JS76xNqDRhRRJ nbFjzOMewMX2%2fxKfBX8XhKT7RjuVO35MKDlyjfAjAfzmRYED eRLWKwPBrG2KFzXkzX5ECQ4z a5NFEYnJVsJRIZ2gmvp5FVfKnbWT50Q3U3qCS076HAqfzb8qKt c66rf2mhO%2b9KcWOc91PuD6 BcIq6YzM8CpWlwgAF5OPyQ13RSLD%2f3Mm43p%2b7AREVxg5D% 2f7AgheOrpj%2fmGyaczVuYM hSoXPbSR7g4UXc85R7xVSwo%2b3EUDAj8fBW3C51uUiFWCb%2b X4tWxR5ftZhHCnW2otMCnPVI tOQ%3d South Dakota, hoary, is WEST of Minnesota while Nebraska is South. Lake Vermilion is one long ways from Vermillion SD. I am not sure one could drive it in eight hours. |
