I sold the Halman and bought this
Tom,
I hope you are joking about single handing your sailboat. You would need three people to safely handle a boat this size. One on the helm, one handling the mainsail and one the jib. Ideally you would have a crew of 5, if you plan on flying a spinnaker or even using a whisker pole on your downwind runs. It looks like this boat was set up for racing. Do you plan on doing some beer can races? I've been on that boat, knew the original owner. He made a bundle in
the video production business and eventually moved to Bermuda with a house next to Ross Perot. Mrs B and I kept Ross waiting once as we paid the taxi on the way to a party at the house, and he was stuck behind us on the one lane road. The boat has raced all over the world (including China), and was sailed with a crew of over 20 rugged young guys. We passed Nirvana last week in the Cape Cod Canal as we were returning south from Maine and they were going north. |

Just think of the babes you'll attract with those decks. He should do well attracting babes with that Halman. The ladies like a nice rounded butt...er transom! |
Tom,
Beer Can Racing is the nickname for amateur racing, it normally is done on a Wed. evening. The only question I have is did you really buy the beautiful boat, or was that the lure? Slowly letting out line, the fisher firmly sets the hook and starts reeling in. It looks like this boat was set up for racing. Yes - it's a Maxi and it's set up for trans-oceanic racing. It's Maxi-Nirvana out of Marblehead, MA owned by Charles Kiefer III. Do you plan on doing some beer can races? You mean for beer? I don't drink alcohol. :) |
