Bush's pals get New Orleans reconstruction contracts
It's amazing how Bush first screwed things up and NOW his buddies are
profiting: http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/09/...eut/index.html Companies with ties to the Bush White House and the former head of FEMA are clinching some of the administration's first disaster relief and reconstruction contracts in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. At least two major corporate clients of lobbyist Joe Allbaugh, President Bush's former campaign manager and a former head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, have already been tapped to start recovery work along the battered Gulf Coast. One is Shaw Group Inc. and the other is Halliburton Co. subsidiary Kellogg Brown and Root. Vice President Dick Cheney is a former head of Halliburton jesus CHRIST is there ANYTHING bush won't use to his political advantage? what's next? you can only buy body bags from white house approved suppliers? --------------------------- to see who "wf3h" is, go to "qrz.com" and enter 'wf3h' in the field |

Let's review: they expedited the process, and tapped the best in the business to start the recovery right now. What would you suggest? Perhaps a nine-month competitive bidding process, with Congressional oversight to ensure that at least 19% of the contracts go to minority owned firms, regardless of qualification? Yuh, that would work good!! |

HAL/KBR are the best in the business at what they do. They completed their contracts following the first Iraq war ahead of schedule and under budget. Help me out here, how does one come in under budget on a cost plus contract? When it's taxpayer money at stake, "better, cheaper, quicker" ends the debate for me. |

So, how could it possibly be under budget???? When it's taxpayer money at stake, "better, cheaper, quicker" ends the debate for me. Again, cost plus project, so how was it cheaper? |

Sam Adams has gone well beyond being a micro brewer, but they have managed
to keep a quality beer with flavor. Except for some of the real micro brewers who truly brew specialty beers) I find Sam Adams one of the better beers on the market. "Eisboch" wrote in message ... I see the picture, but I can't read the writing beside it (can't find my 1.50 diopter reading glasses). I *do* remember reading however, that Samuel Adams beer is of German origin. The people that started the microbrewery years ago used a reciepe transported to New England by a German brewmaster and found by his decendents in a trunk stored in an attic. Sounds good, anyway. Eisboch,
Neither . ; ) I have found some great pubs with a wide variety of draft beers made by real microbrewers. If I am at the average bar, Sam Adams is normally available, the Lager has a decent hoppy flavor. If you ever get a chance to taste Sam Adams XXX Bock, it has a great taste. PS - I tried the Sam Adams Light, and it might have better flavor than the
average light, but it still taste like a light. "Eisboch" wrote in message ... Starbuck's wrote in message ... Except for some of the real micro brewers who truly brew specialty beers) I find Sam Adams one of the better beers on the market. Yabut ... Are you a Republican or a Democrat? Eisboch |

Paul Revere was a silversmith who loved to brew beer?

No. If they put Sm's picture on the label then they wouldn't sell any beer!

I can think of many things I would prefer to do than have a beer with Harry.
I could wax my car, clean the sink traps, or have my nails pulled out by the roots, they all would be more enjoyable. ; ) "Tim" wrote in message ups.com...
