At Sea Navigation

Can anyone suggest a program I can use on my laptop while I am at sea
to take radar and GPS data and display it on electronic charts? I have
the Capn computer program and I can only overlay GPS data onto my
charts. I have a FURUNO FP 2110 radar. Thanks in advance.

The 'radar return echo information' is not currently part of any
NMEA data string so it is not displayable on other pieces of gear.
Most radars however can display information imported from GPS, LORAN,
OMEGA, etc. You would be better to find a more sophisticated radar
display unit and hook your fancy toys to it. Many of the Furuno and
Raymarine units can display chart maps showing all of your waypoints
plus current ships position as read from your GPS, and then also
show the radar echos on top. I have seen some nice complete systems
on Ebay.
