OT- Good news... but wait!

Wait a minute, I thought we eliminated the Taliban and that was one of
President Bush's great triumphs?

http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/asiapc...eut/index.html
"KABUL, Afghanistan (CNN) -- U.S. forces have killed a senior Taliban
commander responsible for a spate of attacks in southern Afghanistan,
the U.S. military says.

The man, identified as Payenda Mohammed, was in command of more than 150
Taliban fighters in Uruzgan province. He was killed along with three of
his men in a battle last week, a U.S. military spokesman said.

"He was known for conducting rocket attacks, ambushes, guerrilla-style
attacks and setting up illegal checkpoints," Colonel Jim Yonts told a
briefing.

Taliban insurgents are battling the government army and about 20,000
U.S. troops across a rugged swathe of south and east Afghanistan.

About 1,000 people have been killed in violence this year, most of them
militants, but including 48 U.S. soldiers."

The Taliban was removed from the governing of Afghanistan. I don't recall anyone
saying all the Taliban had been removed. I'm sure you have a source for that.
Correct?

I'm sure you don't since you were on those that claimed so.

Sorry, a typo. "You were one of those that claimed so."

BTW where is all the proof that Muslims have set off more bombs in the
US than Christians?

I think the qualifier would be "in recent and/or convenient memory".
However, you could include the Weathermen and the Ku Klux Klan, and then
someone's claims would crumble completely.

I made neither of those claims.

Is a "memory of convenience" necessary to be a Bush supporter? Do they
issue one right along with your 'morality of convenience'?

Their claims did crumble completely, being unfounded in reality. Was it
surprising to anybody that they kept changing the subject? IIRC the
final tally was: Muslims- 4 (including 3 planes 'used as bombs'),
Christians- 'way 'way more than 4....

I did learn one new fact, that the SLA planted several bombs as well as
kidnapping an heiress. Not a praticularly useful fact, and completely
irrelevant to that particular discussion, but hey ya can't have everythin'.

I think Patty Hearst once used the word "Muslim". :-)

Proof? Or are you simply making 'proclamations' again.
