Thru-hull or transom mount transducer
Which will be more reliable, thru-hull or transom mount for a depth sounder?
I have a choice for the 20 footer we just bought. Which would you suggest? |

I've never had a problem with my transom mount, unless I knocked it out of alignment while washing the boat. But it's easily straightened out again. If I had to do it over, I'd go with the transom mount. -- John H "All decisions are the result of binary thinking." |

The only thru-hull I had was on my 32 footer (depth sounder). All the others had transom mounts with no problems. |

Thru hull for a depth sounder. It's so much simpler than drilling holes in
the transom. "*JimH*" wrote in message ... Which will be more reliable, thru-hull or transom mount for a depth sounder? I have a choice for the 20 footer we just bought. Which would you suggest? |
