The road East...
Well, we had a few whoopsies - like the boat shifted on the trailer,
the tires while rated for the weight, looked a little scary and the damned straps kept loosening up - which I later discovered that due to the fact that the boat kept shifting front and back. Fixed that and the boat did excellent all the way home. It was a fun trip though, I got to see some really interesting stuff while out in Milwaukee like a public fish cleaning station that I'd never seen before. Pretty cool. The fun thing about the trip were the people who would pull up next to us on the highway and go slow while ogling the boat, then pull in front so I'd have to pass them and so forth. It got to be pretty amusing after a while.; The best ones were in through Chicago though. Three times, somebody would pull up next to me, roll down the window and want to know what kind of boat that was - never seen one before. Very amusing. When we hit the rest stops, eventually somebody would stroll over and look the boat over - most people seem fascinated by the size of it and it's type - one guy actually knew what it was but he had it begged as a Nordic 20. I understand that is a common thing, but they are two different boats even being very similar. So while there were a few whoopsies along the way and some concerns about the tires, all went well and the boat is well and truly home.
