Looking into buying a 17' '82 searay bowrider, price seems right, but
should I get the boat surveyed? And does anyone have an idea on how
much a survey will cost?

Get is surveyed, especially considering it's age. The cost will range from
$14 to $18/foot. Also have the engine compression tested.
