Boyesen reeds, worth the time?

Anyone here replace their reeds with the Boyesen performance reeds?
I would like to try them in my 70hp OMC, and a freind would like to put
a set in his 15hp Mercury.

Boyesen's website tells of all the wonders, but has anyone really
felt the differance that they may share here. Anyone can say "my product
makes your motor run smooth and strong" but I would value more hearing
from someone on this N.G. without a bias.

Just once I want to buy a product that makes my boat run like I threw
my 400 pound fat assed mother-in-law overboard. "The differance is
astounding!! It's like I left her fat ass on the dock!! It really felt
like sea-monkeys were helping push, and it grooms the dog!

Buddy, I'd have to buy one of those.....

Thanks Gummi the Icelander.

I know Boyesen has a great reputation with reeds for Motocross bikes.
They are usually good for a boost in power, though I'm not sure it
would be noticeable in a boat like on a motorcycle.

You won't notice any difference in those motors unless the originals are
failing, which is doubtful. The 15 Merc is already pretty high-strung
as it is, and the 70 OMC would have to be on a really light 12' - 14'
aluminum or hydro to notice any benefit.

Don't think it will help with any power increase, but if the originals are
steel then you have some safety going with Boyesen reeds. If a steel reed
breaks then kiss the engine good by! Boysens are plastic and cause no damage
if they break.
