Suzuki DF15 ignition proplem

In open sea engine misfired on both cylinders simultanously a few minutes,
and then stoppet. Impossible to start after repeated attempts.
At last it fired on one cylinder and I was able to return to safety. Next
day it started and ran normally.
I do not want to go to sea until I have found out what caused the fault,
and100% sure it will not happen again.
What could it have been? CDI? Pulser coil? Moisture?
Anybody know this ignition failure pattern?

John

Is this really one of the few problems the group members cannot solve??

Check all electrical connections on the engine and verify they are clean. I
would actually loosen all connections you can find, clean w/ a wire brush,
and reconnect. Of course you would do this one at a time.
Also make sure your battery connections are good and tight. Hand tight is
usually not enough. Take a pair of pliers and tighten down.

If this does not solve it - chances are you have either a coil or stator
problem. Coils can fail when hot and then reconnect once they cool off
(expansion thing).
