OT--Here's one bill that will never pass

(And it would certainly receive a veto if it ever did)

"California Rep. Barbara Lee -- the only member of Congress to vote against
authorizing President Bush to respond militarily to the terrorist attacks of
Sept. 11, 2001 -- has initiated two recent actions in the House of
Representatives that further solidifies her role as a leading opponent of
the Bush administration's foreign policy. Rep. Barbara Lee was nominated in
late June for the Nobel Peace Prize as part of an international effort to
recognize the work of women around the world who promote peace.

On June 30, Lee introduced a bill that states it is "the policy of the
United States not to enter into any base agreements with the government of
Iraq that would lead to a permanent United States military presence in
Iraq." The bill currently has 41 co-sponsors." (All Democrats no doubt).

Probably. It's usually the democrats who have the ability to think
clearly, and not follow along lemming-like with whatever BushCo says
and wants.

"think clearly"? The troops are there as a deterrent...just as they were in
post-War Germany, Japan, and South Korea as a deterrent. Perhaps your
Democratic brethren think it was a bad idea to station troops in all of
those countries for the past 40-50 years?

I go to bed every night and thank my lucky stars for Congresspersons like
Barbara Lee. It's people like her that will assure that this country will
have a Republican majority for the rest of the foreseeable future.

Howard Dean sure seems to be working hard toward that goal :-)

That's nice, Fritz's regular anus to attach his nose to (JimH) isn't
here, so he's picked you. How cute to know that he has other people to
play nose-in-ass and ass-in-nose with.

Oh, but BushCo, and hence, all of you lemmings are saying that Iraqis
WANT our form of democracy. If that is true, then what would we be
deterring?
