I have a question regarding the launching of inflatable boats and
transom wheels. I have an Achilles RIB inflatable (130 lbs), with motor (60 lbs). I need to "carry" the boat up from the water onto the beach above the high tide (this will be done on a typical beach in the Puget Sound, and not on a boat ramp). This is impossible with one person, and way too difficult even with two people to help carry the boat to high ground. What are my options for purchasing transom wheels? Are the tires wide enough for our beaches in the Puget Sound (our low tides give us a soft beach)? Can they handle the stress of pulling them over the usual rocks (not the huge ones of course), and through some softer ground that we usually have with our low tides in the Puget Sound? I'm considering the Davis Wheel-a-Weigh 16x6.5. The larger tires for their width to help with our soft beaches. Thank you, Jake Tacoma, WA |
