Transon drain tube

Has anyone replaced a transom drain tube in a bass boat? Mine has
corroded due to a leaking battery causing it to leak. I'm particularly
interested in the proper way to remove the old one. I have a Ranger.

Thanks.

John

I have done it. Mine was brass, which is fairly soft, so, I basically
just carefully, with screwdriver and flat screwdriver, tapped on one
side to start it folding into the circle, after that folded it in more
with needle nose pliers, and eventually it came loose, and I pulled it
out. I cleaned the hole good, being careful not to enlarge the hole.
Then I epoxied a new one in.

Thanks for the info!

Thats about the only way I could see to do it, but wanted to get some
"war stories" if possible. My tube looks like aluminum, so it should be
soft too.

Good job on fixing that hole in your head Kevin. Do your brains fall of it
out anymore?

Does JimH ever post anything boating related?

I'm not Kevin, but you're an asshole. Grow up. Glad to see that you, as
usual, had NOTHING to contribute. Your infatuation with me is getting
wierd. You come to a thread, with nothing to contribute, just to stalk
me. You're acting like a little child. Go back to alt.sex.colostomy,
will you?

Yeah, should be soft, even if it were thin steel, just go easy, once
you get it folding toward the center, it loosens up. It's just glued in
with epoxy. Also, if yours is corroded pretty good, that's easier.

And this is a worthy contribution?

My, my. Krause, you are certainly obsessed with the fact that I am boatless
for the moment. Why does that bother you so?

You see, I would rather be boatless and happy than be the grumpy old man you
are. Unlike you I do not have to make up stories about owning a phantom
custom made 36 foot lobster boat. I do not have to make up stories about
fishing trips and being on the water. I don't have to make up stories about
my wife's education. I don't have to make up stories about my life.....all
things you do right here....stories folks have proved were outright lies
time and time again. Yet you continue with them because you need some sort
of validation from the folks here.....a validation that you are more than
that grumpy old man eating cheese doodles at his computer that you really
are. It must really suck to be you and to have to wake up knowing you have
to live another day as Harry Krause.

Try to be happy. Enjoy life. Get out of the house Harry

Go out and actually do some 25 foot fishing boat. Heck, it is probably
worth more than that 800 square foot 2 bedroom house you live in.

Wow! This thing's turned ugly! Didn't know transom drain tubes were such
a touchy subject.

Thanks again for the advice.

Of course, the typo in the subject line should have read "Transom." The
"n" is right next door on the keyboard.

Happy boating,

JB

Yeah, JimH tries to screw up every single thread on rec.boats. Funny
thing is, a few weeks ago, he apparently went on the wagon, and wanted
everyone to cut the crap out. Then, I think he hit the bottle again,
and now he posts nothing BUT crap.

Like these recent posts of yours Kevin?

"What an idiot. Too bad that because of your childish bull****, you lost
a wife, and can't raise your kid because the child has no respect for
you, you ****ing loser."

and

"Awe.....how cute. Was you jacking off about it, Jim?"

and this

"I think it was because of his abuse of his kid. He's having a hell of a
time raising the child now because of his abusive nature. He's abusive
to them, because he's not much of a man, and know it, so it helps his
deflated ego. That's why he acts like such a childish ass here, too.
That and the fact that his lover JimH eggs him on."

And why the continued obsession with me Kevin?

It is comical to see kevin rant like he does....the poor sap relies on his
employer's computer for internet access, and has to kiss harry's ass so at
least one person will give him respect.

The truth hurts, huh? I only bring that stuff up when your boyfriend
Fritz starts acting like an ass. Question: How come you never, ever say
anything to Fritz and JohnH when they do the same thing????

and

"Awe.....how cute. Was you jacking off about it, Jim?"

I asked a question. AND, I never got a direct answer......hmmm....

and this

Well, one can only assume.

WHAT??? I think you've got it backwards, dumb ass. *I* answered the man
about his drain tube. YOU INSTANTLY followed me here, and interjected
nothing but your usual childish bull****. Now, how could anyone with a
mind interpret that as anything but YOUR obsession with ME????

Real Name July 14th 05 09:20 PM

Kevin,
Does your wife know you threaten to commit assault and battery while you are
responding to people in a public NG?
