The Label on my coolant holder for my Volvo KAD32 says only use Volvo
coolant - mixed 50/50. How much of a difference is there between the volvo
coolant and the off-the-shelf Prestone, etc? I'm all for spending the extra
dollar if it is needed but is it really necessary?

Not sure on your Volvo, but were I work VW has 2 different types. The G11 is
bluish in color for pre 97 cars and the 98 and up is G12 spec which is pink.
GM also has several kinds. What color is your present stuff? As for what I
would do... go with what Volvo says.
