Absolutely. Also on the 2nd of July

A very busy weekend for the Coast Guard. The dummies all come out on the
water this coming weekend. More boating accidents and arrests during the
4th of July weekend then at any other time.

True but thanks to darwin, the boater evolution is doing its best to
make sure that in a few generations only the best will have survived ;)

With all due respect, what the heck would a Canuck know about the 4th of
July, or it's importance in American history and culture? That's like me
giving you advice about vacationing on Bastille Day (or Boxing day, or
whatever holiday is important to Canadians)

Canada, France, Italy, and a bunch of other countries all have a 4th
of July.

That is the one day, or night, I wouldn't even think of going out on the water.
I watched the DC fireworks one night from my little boat on the Potomac. Then I
had about a 15 mile ride back to the ramp. I'll never do it again. Too many
boaters get too drunk!
