A while ago I posted about a problem with my trim sender on a
Chaparral with a Merc Bravo I. I suspected the sender because the guage was jumping instantly UP and then DOWN, not a smooth transition. It turns out I was right. Luckily Mercruser has a rotor repair kit (just the little rotor in the sender with some directions) for $14. I took off the sender and the origina rotor had rust on the surface where the wipers contact it. Dropped in the new rotor (payng attention to the alignment mark), put it all together, then the minor adjustment to get the UP and DOWN marks perfect with the drive. Altogether less than 45 minutes work. Man, that beats hauling the whole thing to the Marina. Thanks for the reply postings a while ago. Bob |
