horizon windlass anchor

I'm having difficulty when I raise my anchor. When I reach the end of the
rope and it gets to the chain the windlass will not pull the anchor up.
Normally takes me walking to the bow and gently pulling the chain just a bit
to get it to raise to the final position. What is going on?? Does anyone
have any thoughts that would help?? Please let me know.
Thanks, Doug Copas, Mt.Sterling, Ohio

Generally, this is a problem with (1) a bad splice between anchor and

==================================

Yes, and there is another possibility that I've experienced. On my
Simpson Lawrence windlass there is a clutch pressure adjustment that
would allow slippage between the motor and the wildcat if not adjusted
properly. If your wildcat/capstan stops turning but you can hear the
motor running, that may be your problem.
