Zinc Anodes for 79 Johnson 140 hp Outboard

Hello

I'm looking for information about putting Zinc on my 1979 Johnson 140 hp outboard
Model 140TL 79R
The motor was only used in freshwater and has no Zincs
Johnson dealer I contacted had no technical advise for motors this old.
So I contact Martyr and they informed to buy these Zinc
CM39023
CM12009
CM433580
CM4311708.

Maybe a person who has or had a outboard motor around this year and hp could give
me advise on where there Zinc's were located.

Thanks
Christopher

I cannot help you other than to advise you to use magnesium and not zinc if
the engine is used in fresh water.

Can't you see the anodes when the engine is raised?

If you ony operate in fresh water, you should use magnesium anodes. Zinc is
intended for salt water use.
